Are you a strategic builder who thrives in creating new market success? We’re seeking an experienced and visionary Area Vice President (AVP) of New Starts to lead and scale our expansion efforts across emerging markets. This role drives new start initiatives by developing talent, executing high-impact strategies, and partnering cross-functionally to ensure sustainable growth and regulatory alignment.
The AVP of New Starts is a key leadership position responsible for identifying new market opportunities, mentoring field-based development teams, and coordinating operational, clinical, and sales initiatives to meet or exceed census and revenue targets.
Direct and lead new market expansion strategies across multiple regions in alignment with organizational growth goals.
Develop and implement the New Start methodology, including staffing plans and launch timelines.
Oversee hiring, coaching, and professional development for new start operations teams.
Partner with Regional Operations and Business Development teams to identify new market talent and drive business alignment.
Design and manage launch plans, sales initiatives, referral partnerships, and local marketing campaigns.
Lead budget development and oversee P&L management for all assigned new start markets.
Ensure full compliance with state, federal, and organizational standards in all market initiatives.
Participate in local and regional community and business development activities to enhance brand visibility and partnerships.
Monitor KPIs and provide strategic guidance until each new start achieves target census and sustainability benchmarks.
Guide teams with consultative leadership and provide actionable insights through data analysis and sales performance reviews.
Bachelor’s degree required
Demonstrated expertise in new market planning, talent acquisition, and team coaching
Comfortable leading both strategy and execution while working with remote and field-based teams
Excellent understanding of regulatory environments, budgeting, and financial accountability
Intermediate Excel & Basic PowerPoint
Data fluency and comfort reviewing business performance in CRM or EMR systems (HomeCare HomeBase preferred)
Valid driver's license and automobile insurance
Experience scaling new hospice locations is a plus
