The Business Intelligence Developer reports to the Director of Business Intelligence and Data Services and plays a key role in maintaining existing data solutions while building new ones to meet evolving business needs. This position supports the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) — from requirements gathering to development to production maintenance — ensuring accuracy, performance, and reliability of enterprise data solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Provide support across the entire SDLC, from technical requirements to production maintenance
Engineer optimized data structures for analytics purposes
Design and develop ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes
Document design specifications and test plans to ensure accuracy of delivered data solutions
Interpret data and relationships within OLTP (Online Transaction Processing) and OLAP (Online Analytical Processing) systems
Monitor and manage integration elements to ensure performance and customer satisfaction
Ensure data accuracy and integrity through analysis, coding, clear documentation, and issue resolution
Qualifications - What You’ll Bring
Bachelor’s degree in information technology, business intelligence, computer science, or related field
5+ years of progressive experience in healthcare IT, analytics, software development, or data management
Strong SQL or Python programming skills
Expertise in Microsoft SQL Server database modeling and development
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
Familiarity with BI reporting technologies such as MicroStrategy, Tableau, SSRS, Power BI
Knowledge of OLTP and OLAP systems and data modeling best practices
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines without sacrificing accuracy
Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to adapt to various audiences
Proven problem-resolution skills and professional judgment
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
Preferred (Not Required)
Prior healthcare industry experience
Experience with cloud technologies such as Azure or AWS
Familiarity with additional programming languages beyond SQL and Python
Experience contributing to project monitoring and knowledge continuity initiatives
Continuous learning mindset with a track record of adapting to new technologies and processes
