Overview

We are looking for a VP of Financial Planning and Analysis to join our team. This position will directly report to the EVP Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for providing leadership, expertise, and support across different financial and operational functions with in Gentiva.

 

Essential Functions of Position

  • Budgeting and Forecasting
    • Lead and manage the budgeting process, as well as regularly monthly and quarterly reforecasting.
  • Analysis & Performance Management
    • Manage and conduct financial analysis.
    • Work with Executive team members to evaluate business performance from strategic, operational, and financial perspective.
    • Review and explain significant account variances when comparing actual results, budgets, and forecasts.
    • Prepare monthly variance analysis, operating statistics, and presentation material
    • Work with department managers to develop various monthly and annual budget presentations.
    • Perform trend analyses with respect to key metrics.
    • Provide both financial and non-financial reporting to ensure that managers have valid and current information to enable both strong financial ownership and appropriate support for the decision-making processes.
  • Financial Reporting
    • Implement and lead in a hands-on fashion a cadence of comprehensive monthly operating reviews for the management team analyzing in depth the key drives of the business’ financial and operational performance, including variance to budgets and forecasts.

About You

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or equivalent; MBA preferred 
  • Minimum 15 years of overall professional experience; 10 or more years of broad and operations management experience
  • Proven success leading the FP&A function in a company.  Demonstrated ability to effectively partner with investors.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret financial results to formulate effective recommendations for creating value.  Passion for synthesizing analyses to create clear, succinct, and actionable recommendations supported by contact, data, and metrics.
  • Experience building budgets, forecasts, cash flow statements, sources and uses of funds, drive innovation and standardization in reporting and forecasting processes, tools, and analysis.
  • A broad and thorough FP&A Toolkit.   The Company uses Adaptive Insights for forecasting and certain reporting needs.   Experience in this system or similar systems is important.
  • Demonstrated success operating ‘sleeves up’ in a fast-paces environment.
  • Ability to plan and conduct non-routine financial analysis/reporting projects and consult effectively on highly technical projects.
  • Experience in the healthcare industry helpful/preferred.
  • Ability to travel 10-20%

 

Licenses/Certification:

  • CPA desired

  • Well organized and confident to work independently, but is a team player
  • Detail-and-deadline oriented with the ability to prioritize and multi-task 
  • Demonstrates strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
