Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior ServiceNow Developer to play a key role in enhancing and optimizing our ServiceNow platform recently implemented. You will leverage your deep ServiceNow expertise to design, develop, and implement innovative solutions that streamline IT service management (ITSM) processes, automate tasks, and deliver significant business value. This role will focus on optimizing our new ServiceNow instance, ensuring peak performance, scalability, and adherence to best practices. As a trusted advisor, you will collaborate closely with stakeholders to translate business needs into effective technical solutions, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the ServiceNow architecture.

 

This is a work from home position. To support operational needs and business hours, candidates should reside in these states: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas or Virginia.

 

General Duties & Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead the design, architecture, and development of ServiceNow solutions, aligning with business requirements, ITSM best practices, and the overall IT strategy.
  • Elicit and analyze business requirements, translating them into detailed technical designs and specifications.
  • Develop and implement complex customizations, workflows, integrations, and automations utilizing ServiceNow functionalities and scripting languages (JavaScript, AngularJS, etc.).
  • Architect and implement integrations between ServiceNow and other enterprise systems and applications (e.g., LDAP, SSO, web services, APIs, databases).
  • Configure, administer, and maintain ServiceNow modules, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, security, and user experience.
  • Champion and enforce ITIL best practices and ServiceNow architectural standards.
  • Proactively research and stay current with the latest ServiceNow features, updates, and best practices, including new applications and platform capabilities.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to other ServiceNow developers.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and quality assurance processes.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for ServiceNow solutions.
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of ServiceNow governance and best practices.
  • Participate in ServiceNow upgrades and patching.
  • Takes a holistic view of the ServiceNow platform and its alignment with business needs. Responsible for designing the overall architecture, ensuring scalability, performance, security, and maintainability.

 

Essential Functions of Position:

  • Development: Design, develop, test, and deploy ServiceNow applications, including forms, workflows, UI actions, business rules, client scripts, and integrations.
  • Architecture: Lead the design and architecture of ServiceNow solutions, ensuring alignment with business requirements, ITSM processes, and the overall enterprise architecture. This includes defining system architecture, data models, integrations, security protocols, and performance optimization strategies.
  • Integration: Architect and implement integrations between ServiceNow and other systems using REST APIs, SOAP, web services, and other integration methods.
  • Customization: Develop complex customizations and configurations within ServiceNow to meet specific business requirements.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with business analysts, stakeholders, and other developers to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions.
  • Problem Solving: Analyze and resolve complex technical issues related to ServiceNow.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, including design documents, user manuals, and training materials.

About You

Specialized Knowledge/Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 10+ years of experience in information technology
  • 6+ years of experience with ServiceNow and 3+ years as a ServiceNow developer
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript, REST APIs, HTML, CSS, and other web development technologies.
  • Experience in designing and implementing ServiceNow IT Service Management (ITSM) and other modules (e.g., IT Operations Management, Customer Service Management. IT Service Management (ITSM) & HR Service Delivery (HRSD)).
  • 4 years’ experience with web-based development languages (JavaScript, HTML, CSS, AJAX, HTTP, XML).
  • 4 years’ experience with relational databases.
  • ITIL related certification (Foundations or higher).
  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (preferred).
  • Experience in implementing Mobile Agent App
  • Experience in implementing Virtual Agents
  • Experience in Enterprise Asset Management (preferred)
  • Experience with UI Builder (preferred)
  • Experience with Integration Hub, Managed and Custom Spokes.
  • Experience building Custom Applications, including roles, tables, metrics, & reporting.
  • Ability to present technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Extensive experience working with clients to understand and document business requirements and implementing information technology solutions/initiatives/service automation that meet their business requirements.
  • Experience working with customers to understand requirements and implementing information technology solutions/initiatives/service automation.
