Overview

We are looking for a National Medical Director of Workforce Development and Strategy to join our team. This position will directly report to the EVP Chief Medical Officer and will serve as a liaison and resource for medical directors and physicians in all divisions. This role will lead and collaborate on the development and implementation of internal physician training, quality initiatives, and other needs to ensure company success and exceptional patient outcomes. 

  • Partners with Nurse Practitioner leadership to align and deliver on Nurse Practitioner-related needs and education
  • Collaborates with other Hospice National Medical Directors and Palliative National Medical Directors on clinical priorities and other identified needs
  • Participates in Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluations (OPPE) to identify trends, drive performance improvement, and ensure compliance, quality, and safety
  • Facilitates and supports Hospice and Palliative Grand Rounds by identifying speakers, managing scheduling, and working with vendor partners to develop and deliver educational content

About You

  • Doctorate degree in allopathic medicine or osteopathic medicine from an accredited medical school
  • Board certification in a specialty recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) or the American Osteopathic Associations Bureau of Osteopathic Specialties (AOA-BOS) [primary care specialty preferred]
  • Current and valid National Provider Identifier (NPI)
  • Current and unrestricted DEA Registration for Schedules 2 through 5 and any applicable state-controlled substance prescribing registration
  • Hospice and Palliative Medicine board certification from ABMS or AOA-BOS, and/or Hospice Medical Director Certification Board certification
  • Extensive knowledge of hospice and palliative care principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Understanding of pain management and symptom control, including pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions.
  • Familiarity with healthcare policies, compliance standards, and ethical issues related to end-of-life care.
  • Ability to travel 15-25%
